Havent been on a computer for a bit. Had a lovely time relaxing on the beach and in the pool for a few days. Unfortunately James didnt get a surf in.  

Started back on our strict diet yesterday and feel 100% better. Diet includes any variety of beer, coctails, chilli, mexican food and pizza. I dont know why we ever stopped. Both got food poisoning from our ceasar salad that we ate the night before leaving Palenque. Stupid... no more salad. James was sicker than me but both pretty ill. We did another day trip today. 5th lot of Ruins. Not as far to drive. Paid for an english speaking guide and had two retired ozzies on our tour. Very interesting tour. Took 3 hours to walk around ruins. Deep in the jungle and only 5% is exposed. The other 95% is still covered in jungle. Very difficult to excavate the a...

Visited Bonampak and Yaxchilan Ruins Yesterday. Much less touristy than Chichen Itza. Bonampak still had some coloured artwork in good condition inside some of the ruins. Yaxxhillan is very isolated in middle of lush jungle. Had to take a 40minute boatride there and back. Guatemala was on the other side of the river. H...

After 8 hour night bus we arrived in the Jungle. It has been raining all day and night. Having a relaxing day today as not much to do in this town. Then jungle tour and more ruins over the next couple of days.

Back to Merida for dinner and Crema de Tequila (Made with tequilla, coffee liquor and thick milk) then midnight night bus to Palenque.

Yesterday we did a day tour to Celestun Reserve to see Flamingos. We also braved our first seafood meal and survived. Best Shrimp Coctail (shrimps, onion, lime juice, tomato sauce/ vinegar mix and some salsa habenero).  

Day trip to Chichen Itza yesterday was amazing. Visited the ancient Mayan City. Still in quite good condition. Would have loved to see it when the buildings were all painted in colour.
