All rates are listed per minute but charged per second for domestic outgoing calls from a Vietnam.
All incoming calls are free, regardless of where they originate.

Vietnam is divided between 3 zones:

Zone1: Provinces in the North to Quang Binh (Hanoi, Haiphong, Halong)
Zone2: Provinces from Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong to the South (Ho Chi Minh City)
Zone3: Provinces from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa and Dac Lac (Hue, Danang and Hoi An)

Activating your service

Your Vietnam mobile phone number is printed on the reverse side of your SIM card packaging and begins 090

To activate your service:

  1. Travel to Vietnam.
  2. Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
  3. Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
  4. Turn your phone on.
  5. Enter the default PIN code (1111)^
  6. Start calling.

* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.

Making and receiving calls

How to make a call

To make an international call from your Vietnam mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.

How family and friends call you

Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, the country code 1 and your mobile phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero).
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 84 and then your mobile phone number.

Recharging your account

Your SIM card has an initial credit of 100,000 VND (US$6.50) and a 300,000 VND (US$19) recharge card has also been included.

To add credit to your Vietnam SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called Reload codes. You will find these vouchers at local Mobi4U shops, authorized dealers and wherever you see the Mobi4U logo displayed in Vietnam. They may be purchased in 4 denominations: 100,000 VND (US $6.50). 200,000 VND (US $13), 300,000 VND (US $19) and500,000 VND (US $32.25).

To recharge your account:

  1. Purchase a recharge voucher.
  2. Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code.
  3. Enter your voucher code.

To check your current balance:

  1. Dial 901[SEND] from your mobile phone.

Do not purchase another Vietnam SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!

Customer service for your Vietnam SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 9244 from your mobile phone.

Service life

If you do not recharge your account within 180 days your mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card. The 180 day period starts the day you arrive in Vietnam.
