International Calls
Whether you're calling another cell phone or a fixed line, you can make international calls to anywhere in the world using your Ireland SIM card. Rates listed below are the direct dial rates from your international cell phone.

Your Ireland SIM card will provide you with an Ireland cellular phone number, which can be found printed on the small booklet inside your SIM card package. The number begins with 086.
To activate your service:
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^Your mobile phone will prompt you for a 4 digit PIN code, which can be found on the card affixed to your prepaid SIM card in your Ireland SIM packaging. This is a security feature of your Ireland SIM card. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter a PIN code incorrectly 3 times. Follow your mobile phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your cellular phone if this occurs.
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Ireland mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, the country code 353 and your mobile phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero).
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 353 and then your mobile phone number.
To purchase additional airtime for your Ireland SIM card, you will need to purchase Speakeasy Top Up cards. Top Up cards may be in purchased at most convenience stores, O2 dealers, tabac shops and petrol stations throughout Ireland. Top Up cards are available at face value in 10 EUR, 15 EUR, 20 EUR, 25 EUR and 30 EUR denominations.
A 25 EUR Top Up card will cost you 25 EUR and subsequently will credit your Ireland SIM card for 25 EUR. To recharge your Ireland service, please follow the instructions below.
NOTE: You will need to register your laser / credit card in order to top up your account. To do so, please call customer service on 1747.
Remember: Do NOT purchase another Ireland SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted, you only need a Top Up card.
To check your current balance:
Customer service for your Ireland SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 1747 from your Ireland cell phone or by calling 185061747 from landline phone.
Your Ireland service has an initial validity period of 6 months. If you do not recharge your account within these 6 months, your mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card. The 6 month period starts the day you arrive in Ireland.
