Composing a voicemail using a computer

Your computer must have a microphone for you to be able to send voicemail. If it doesn't, you can send voicemail using the ekit phone service.

  1. Open your inbox.
  2. In the top navigation menu, select Compose then click Compose voicemail from the drop down.
    * The 'Compose voicemail' page opens.
  3. In the To field, type the ekit number of the person who you want to send the voicemail to.
    * You can type multiple ekit numbers—just be sure to put a comma between each one.
  4. In the Cc field, type the ekit number of the person who you want to send a copy of the voicemail to.
    * You can type multiple ekit numbers—just be sure to put a comma between each one.
  5. Click continue.
    * The next compose a voicemail page appears.
  6. Click record, say your message into the computer's microphone, then click stop.
  7. To review your message, click play.
  8. If you're happy with your voicemail, click send. If not, go back to step 5.
    * A message appears telling you that your voicemail was successfully sent.
  9. Click continue.
    * A message appears saying your voicemail has been posted.
  10. Click continue.
    * The inbox appears.

If the voicemail recorder is not working you might need to change preferences in your browser.

If you are using IE5:

  1. Go to tools, on the browsers toolbar
  2. Select 'Internet Options'
  3. Click the 'Security' tab
  4. Click Custom Level
  5. Click the 'Enable' option, for 'Download signed ActiveX controls'
  6. Click OK
  7. Click OK
